Jim and Julie Coston Run Marathon for Club Kids
South Ward Councilman Jim Coston and his wife, Julie, are set to run in the Baltimore Marathon and Half Marathon on Saturday, Oct. 13, to benefit the Boys & Girls Club. "We will be running a combined 39.3 miles and we both wanted to find some extra motivation to help us train for the race,” Jim says.
Jim and Julie decided to use the marathon as a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club because of its work with youth in Trenton. The Club is located in Trenton’s South Ward, which Jim represents as a city councilman, and is across the street from the First Baptist Church, where both Jim and Julie minister.
All donations from Jim and Julie’s marathon will go specifically to fund the Club’s Career Launch work readiness program which helps young people ages 12 to 18 explore career options through internships and job placement assistance. “We have a lot of support in and around Trenton, and now we’re asking the folks who say they want to help inner-city youth to put their words into action by helping us to support the Boys & Girls Club."
