Times Appeal Raises $72,228 to Help Kids

Thanks to the generosity of community members throughout Mercer County and beyond, The Times 2007 Holiday Appeal raised a total of $72,228 in support of the Boys & Girls Club of Trenton & Mercer County.

"Every year, the mission of the Times Holiday Appeal is to raise awareness and funds for a local organization dedicated to improving lives," said Richard Bilotti, publisher of The Times. "Generous support from hundreds of readers and many area organizations has made this year's Holiday Appeal a big success for the Boys & Girls Club of Trenton & Mercer County and the nearly 1,700 youths it serves each day."

David E. Anderson, the club's executive director, said, "The Boys & Girls Club is immensely grateful to The Times and to the community for their outpouring of support. The Times Holiday Appeal has been a transformative experience for the Boys & Girls Club, and our community's desire to help kids succeed is truly heartwarming."

Reggie Coleman, associate executive director, added, "It's been a real thrill for our kids to read about themselves and 'their second home' in the newspaper every day. The success of the campaign has helped them feel like someone cares about them. Frankly, I didn't know that so many area residents care so deeply about the work we're doing. Thanks to all of them."
