Hundreds of City Kids Seek Summer Camp
Many more Boys & Girls Club members are looking to the Club to provide a safe place to go and have fun this summer. With other organizations in the City of Trenton forced to cut recreation programs due to the economy, demand for summer camp at the Boys & Girls Club is greater than ever.
Club Needs Additional $60,000 to Serve More Kids
The Boys & Girls Club has expanded its Summer Camp to three sites to serve an additional 50 campers per day for the entire summer. As a result, the Boys & Girls Club needs supporters to raise additional funds to sponsor the Summer Camp Scholarship Fund.
Sponsors Can Join Kids in Field Day Games and Cookout
Scholarship Fund sponsors are invited to meet Boys & Girls Club campers at a Camp Field Day on Thursday, July 2 at Rosedale Park in Hopewell, NJ.
Camp Fund supporters are invited to engage in a Day of Caring while teaming up with campers to compete in canoe races, obstacle courses, water balloon toss, basketball free-throw, and tug-of-war contests. Participants also will enjoy an outdoor barbecue with the kids.
To support a Club kid for Summer Camp, complete the Scholarship Fund form.
Summer Camp Scholarship Fund Opportunities
- Summer Camp Director – $10,000 - Sponsors 40 Kids for two weeks of camp
- Summer Camp Counselor –- $5,000 - Sponsors 20 Kids for two weeks of camp
- Summer Camp Supporter – $2,500 - Sponsors 10 Kids for two weeks of camp
- Summer Camp Guide – $1,000 - Sponsors 4 Kids for two weeks of camp
- Summer Camp Kid – $250 - Sponsors 1 Child for two weeks of camp
Note to Sponsors: Although the Boys & Girls Club has cancelled its traditional golf outing this year, the funds that were realized from the event still are needed to take care of the kids who need us most. Sponsors have been assured that 100 percent of their gifts to the Summer Camp Scholarship Fund will go directly to providing inner-city kids with an opportunity to enjoy a safe and productive summer.
