Rebeckha and Rachel Sanchez

The Boys & Girls Club at the Mott School assures Franklin and Ruth Sanchez that their children are in a positive place for kids during after-school hours. And, with both of them working, it’s a relief to know that their children are safe and participating in high-quality programs right in their school.

For ten year old Rebeckha and her sister, Rachel, a second-grader, the Boys & Girls Club means that they can get homework help, have fun with their friends, and learn new sports and games. The girls enjoy a variety of activities and field trips. They’re especially looking forward to hearing the Disney singer Raven this summer during Boys & Girls Club Kids Day at Six Flags Great Adventure.

This fall, when their little brother Franklin, Jr., joins the Club, he can look forward to the same safe and fun activities. One sport that he hopes to practice is golf with First Tee. (He already accompanies his father to the driving range.)

“The staff always knows where our kids are and how they’re doing when we pick them up,” notes Ruth Sanchez, who works as a teaching assistant at a nearby nursery school. “You’re the only ones other than family that we’ve ever trusted to take care of our kids,” she adds.

“Our kids come first,” says Franklin, who holds a full-time job in Trenton and also manages a business part-time. “With the Boys & Girls Club after-school program, we don’t have to worry about where the kids are and what they’re doing.”
