Career Launch
Career Launch utilizes three nationally-tested programs – Career Explorers, Club Tech, and Job Ready!
Career development specialists are helping Club members to make sound educational decisions. The three-pronged effort is designed to prepare youth members to join today’s ever-changing work force, she notes.
Career Explorers
Career Explorers encourages Club members ages 13 to 15 to assess their skills and interests, explore the diverse possibilities of tomorrow’s careers, and begin preparing for employment opportunities.
Career Tech
Club Tech offers the latest tools and software to make Club members proficient technology users. Members gain basic computer skills and develop proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and other productivity software through fun, hands-on engaging lessons and projects.
Job Ready!
Job Ready! provides Club members ages 16 to18 with specific skills to secure employment and be successful in today’s competitive work force. Through comprehensive program materials and assessment tools, Club staff can tailor the program to meet members’ particular needs.
Using state-of-the-art support materials and Internet web sites, teens are learning how to identify job opportunities, write effective resumes, perform well in interviews, dress appropriately, develop good work habits and get along well with others in the workplace.
Paid Internships
Age-appropriate graduates in each category of Career Launch are eligible for paid internships, job shadowing, and job placement through partnerships with local businesses, financial institutions, retail establishments, local government, and other places of work needing trained, responsible young adults.
