Princeton ATA Black Belt Academy and the Boys & Girls Club of Trenton have come together to form a program through which Club members are learning self-confidence, self-defense, and physical fitness through the practice of karate. The focus of the ATA program is to provide kids with high quality martial arts instruction in a safe and positive learning environment that members of all ages can enjoy. Martial arts offer something for a child that no other sport can. It's a "learning style" athletic activity that develops a sense of self discipline that can carry over into all aspects of life.Karate meets every Saturday afternoon at the main clubhouse from 1 to 3 PM. Boys & Girls Club Members can register to participate in karate at the front desk of our Centre Street Clubhouse.
The Golf Professional staff from TPC Jasna Polana teaches golf to club members’ ages 7 to 13. Kids learn the First Tee’s core values of TARGET, core life skills, and the fundamentals of the golf swing. First Tee is a solid beginning for kids eager to learn about the fundamentals of golf.
Club members learn about team building and can enhance their athletic skills through a variety of sports. Triple Play is a health and wellness program designed to empower young people to make informed decisions about their physical, mental, and social well-being. The goal of Triple Play is to improve our Club members' knowledge of healthy habits, good nutrition and physical fitness; increase the number of hours per day they participate in physical activities; and strengthen their ability to interact positively with others and engage in healthy relationships.
Through a partnership with the Bobby Campbell Lacrosse Foundation, the Club offers members in third through sixth grade an opportunity to learn to play “the fastest game on two feet.” The BRIDGE initiative, “Building Relationships to Initiate Diversity, Growth and Enrichment,” is working to bring the sport of lacrosse to Trenton.
