Boys & Girls Club of Trenton & Mercer County, NJ

Just for Teens

Our Boys & Girls Club offers diverse activities specially designed to engage and motivate teens and a separate teen lounge where they can pursue their interests and connect with friends. There are numerous social recreation and sports activities, as well as opportunities to learn and improve technology skills. We provide the structure for teens to engage in community service projects, and workshops in which they can discuss issues and concerns facing teens today.Candlelight Reception Ball 2009 125

Our many programs help teens plan for their future. We offer test preparation classes and College 101, which provides assistance with the application process and offers teens the opportunity to visit colleges and universities. We provide career awareness workshops with guest speakers and teach job interviewing skills. We also offer internships and job placements, both in the Clubs, through our Junior Staff program, and in corporate offices. Our nationally chartered Keystone Club helps teens develop leadership skills and interest in civic involvement.

Our Clubs provide a fun and supportive place to hang out, where teens can do homework, get assistance with college applications, find employment, and talk to a caring adult about issues that matter.

Dennisse And SherlinFor high school teens, we offer Keystone Club, a teen leadership club that promotes community service and other values of productive citizenship. Keystone members elect officers, choose their own activities and plan and implement community service projects. A national charter entitles our Keystone Club members to participate in regional and national Keystone conferences.

For younger teens, we offer Torch Club, a leadership development program that allows members to plan and implement their own activities and community service projects.

Teens can apply for internships at our Club by completing the Job-Ready program. This 10-week program is delivered at the Club and in area high schools.

Young people prepare for the future by participating in career development activities, discovering the importance of community service, and building customer service skills.
