Join the Volunteer Corps!
The Volunteer Corps consists of individuals interested in specific volunteer opportunities. Activities include building improvements, special programming for kids and teens, and event management, and fund raising.
Spruce Up
Help us provide a clean, welcoming, and kid-friendly environment at our Clubs! Volunteer activities may include washing and painting walls, cleaning carpets, planting flowers, and other Club cleanup projects.
Kids Programming
Help with special programs and events at the Club. Opportunities include:
- Helping with December holiday parties for after-school program kids.
- Distributing gifts to our Club members in December.
- Helping to run children’s games and activities during America’s Day for Kids celebration in September.
- Participating in National Boys & Girls Club Week in April as a guest speaker
- Organizing field trips to area attractions.
Special Events
Help the Boys & Girls Club with a fundraising event. We need your help to raise $1.5 million every year to ensure that no Trenton youth is turned away from Club activities based on ability to pay.
- Candlelight Ball (November) – This formal dinner-dance and silent auction is our primary fund-raising event. Volunteer committee members are needed for planning, publicity, silent auction, ticket sales, event journal, and corporate sponsorships.
- · Golf Outing (July) – This signature event traditionally is held at the Olde York County Club which boasts one of the state’s top 20 courses. Volunteer committee members are needed to plan and run the event, sell tickets, generate publicity, and secure corporate sponsorships.
Additional Needs
The Boys & Girls Club welcomes volunteers with special expertise. Consider working on grant proposals, taking photographs of kids and at events, engaging corporate partnerships for our Career Launch program, and writing stories for our quarterly newsletter.
